Michelle is a former student of American travel writing gurus, Amanda Castleman and Edward Readicker-Henderson; both recipients of Lowell Thomas journalism awards. Michelle has also completed Candace Dempsey's food writing course at www.writers.com
Michelle's other non-fiction writing interests include nature and women's issues. Current professional development includes a mentorship with Australian award-winning feature writer, Valerie Khoo from the Sydney Writer's Centre.
Michelle lives in Kuala Lumpur with her kiteboard-crazy husband, and possibly the most well-travelled ex-street dog in the world. Despite having lived overseas for 13 years, Michelle still calls Australia 'home' and returns to visit family and friends at least once a year.
